Dr. Itotenaan Henry Ogiri
Dr. Itotenaan Henry Ogiri is a seasoned Accountant and has worked both in the private and public sectors of the Nigerian Economy. He has served as Executive Director (Finance & Administration) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Earlier on, he was elected into the Rivers State House of Assembly as a Member of Parliament where he represented Abua/Odual State Constituency for two consecutive tenors. Dr. Ogiri presently holds the position of Chief Consultant of Rosebowl Education Consult Ltd, an Educational Consulting outfit based in Lagos, Nigeria. He is also a Senior Lecturer at Gregory University Post Graduate Business School, Uturu, Nigeria. Dr. Henry Ogiri holds a Higher Diploma in Accountancy (Jos, Nigeria), BA in Accounting & Financial Management (Sunderland, UK) and MBA in Management (Port Harcourt, Nigeria). His love for education and research spurred him into further studies and he subsequently received his M.Sc. and PhD (both in Accounting and Finance) from Leeds Beckett University (formerly, Leeds Metropolitan University) in the United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and also holds membership of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), and The Institute of Chartered Fraud Examiners (ICFE). Dr Ogiri has taught different courses at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) training Centres and has also mentored several students at both the ICAN professional examination level and the M.Sc./PhD programmes in Nigeria and UK Universities. He has published in top-ranking academic journals including: American Journal of Social and Management Sciences (USA), Social Responsibility Journal (UK), Journal of Global Responsibility (Australia) and African Journal of Economic and Sustainable Development (New York, USA), among others. His research interests are in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Oil prices and stock market performance, business ethics and Sustainable Development. Dr. Ogiri has presented research papers at International Conferences and was a visiting Fellow of Leeds Beckett University in the United Kingdom where he was a guest lecturer at the Centre for Governance, Leadership and Global Responsibility. He is widely travelled and loves swimming and playing table tennis. He is married with children.
